Habitat for Humanity Peterborough & Kawartha Region is gearing up for its second annual HomeGrown Vineyard Party Fundraiser, set to take place on Saturday, June 7, at the scenic Rolling Grape Vineyards in Bailieboro.
The event promises a night of elegance and community support, with all proceeds going toward Habitat PKR’s mission to provide affordable homeownership opportunities in the region. Running from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, guests will be treated to a memorable evening, complete with a gourmet meal, live entertainment, and the chance to indulge in Rolling Grape’s award-winning wines.
“This year’s HomeGrown is more than just an event, it’s a powerful step toward essential change,” said Susan Zambonin, CEO of Habitat for Humanity Peterborough & Kawartha Region. “We’re coming together to support affordable homeownership, which is increasingly out of reach for many families. The funds raised will help build a future where everyone in our community has a safe, decent place to call home.”
Guests will be transported to the Amalfi Coast through the event’s Italian-inspired theme, all while enjoying an awe-inspiring vineyard sunset. Under the clear-ceiling atrium, they will also hear about Habitat’s bold new housing initiatives, including the region’s first 3D-printed home in Fraserville. This innovative project is set to revolutionize the speed and cost of affordable construction.
Habitat will also share updates on a partnership with Our Daughter’s Home to build a duplex in Peterborough’s East City. This initiative will provide a safe and stable home for seven adult women living with disabilities. Looking ahead, Habitat is working on an ambitious 41-unit affordable condominium project in the City of Peterborough, a critical addition to the community’s housing options.
Neil Morton, co-founder of Cormor Inc. and the event’s MC, expressed his enthusiasm for the cause. “Community is everything, it’s the glue that holds us together,” Morton said. “Safe, affordable homes create stability for generations. I’m honoured to be part of HomeGrown and to help support Habitat PKR’s transformative work.”
In addition to food, wine, and inspiring stories, the evening will feature a silent auction with a wide range of items up for bid. Every dollar raised supports Habitat PKR’s life-changing homeownership programs. Local businesses are invited to contribute auction items, providing a chance to showcase their support for affordable housing in the region.
