New Stages’ most ambitious season to date continues May 3rd with a stage reading of the highly acclaimed drama The Boy In The Moon.
Based on the book by Ian Brown and adapted for the stage by Emil Sher, it tells the true story of Walker, the son of Brown and Johanna Schneller. Born with a rare genetic mutation, the play relates his raising through humour, authenticity and vulnerability.
New Stages artistic director Mark Wallace says the family’s willingness to share their feelings and experiences is especially admirable.
Wallace says the story doesn’t pull any punches, which only adds to its poignancy.
Wallace says a strong cast has been assembled for the reading, mentioning two in particular.
Tickets for the 7 p.m. reading at Market Hall are available at the box office and online at newstages.ca.
