A 34-year-old Hastings man is facing an impaired driving charge after Ontario Provincial Police responded to a traffic complaint.
Peterborough County OPP say they received a call shortly after midnight on April 27th reporting a vehicle having difficulty maintaining its lane. Officers located the vehicle and, after observing the driving, conducted a traffic stop.
Police say they detected the smell of alcohol on the driver’s breath and demanded a roadside test using an Approved Screening Device. The driver provided a sample, which registered a “FAIL,” leading to his arrest.
The accused has been charged with operation while impaired — blood alcohol concentration over 80.
His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven.
