A 28-year-old Peterborough man is facing multiple charges following an early morning incident at Peterborough Regional Health Centre.
At around 3:45 am on Tuesday, officers responded to a disturbance in the hospital’s Emergency Department. Security had asked a man to leave, but he became aggressive, brandished a knife, and fled. Police located a man matching the description nearby.
Concerned about the weapon, officers drew their Conducted Energy Weapons (CEWs) and made the arrest without further incident. A knife was recovered by security and turned over to police.
The man is charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, and failing to comply with a probation order. He was already under two probation orders, one of which required him to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
