A spring tradition continues later this month when the Peterborough Theatre Guild stages its season-ending musical at Showplace.
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat opens April 25th – the first of eight performances at the downtown venue.
Featuring Brayden Ellis in the lead role, the multi-Tony Award-nominated musical is a re-imagining of the Biblical story of Joseph, complete with colourful costumes, big dance numbers and well-known songs such as Any Dream Will Do and Close Every Door To Me.
Director Robert Ainsworth, a veteran of numerous Guild productions, says the musical is the perfect tonic during these stressful times.
Ainsworth says directing a musical is a different, but welcome, experience.
Ainsworth says there was one huge piece missing early on that caused some anxiety.
