Two long-time volunteers with Habitat for Humanity Peterborough & Kawartha Region have been recognized with the King Charles III Coronation Medal for their dedication to community service.
Cindy Windover and Harry Pearson were honoured at a special celebration at the Lakefield ReStore on Thursday. Windover, a long-time board member, has been instrumental in shaping the organization’s vision, supporting fundraising efforts, and advocating for affordable homeownership. Pearson, a hands-on volunteer for more than 18 years, has contributed to over 40 home builds and helped salvage materials for Habitat ReStores through the deconstruction program.
Both have played key roles in Habitat PKR’s Lakefield projects, including homes on Fitzgerald Street.
Habitat PKR CEO Susan Zambonin called them “good friends and valued members of the Habitat family,” emphasizing their impact in creating safe, affordable housing.
