With the recent announcement that Juno Award-winning artists Serena Ryder will open the 38th edition of Peterborough Musicfest on June 28th, stayed tuned – another headliner will be announced in a couple of weeks.
That’s the word from Musicfest executive director Tracey Randall who is busy negotiating with agents to fill this summer’s 16-show schedule.
While the most of the Del Crary Park lineup won’t be revealed until May, Randall says eight slots are already filled, including what she terms ‘a doozy’ booked for closing night on August 16th.
In the meantime, drumming up sponsor support, which is the life blood of the free-admission festival, is keeping Randall very busy.
Randall says last summer’s return of the 50-50 ticket sales provided a huge boost to the festival and, as such, will return this summer.
Randall says the search for ‘new things’ to enhance the concert night experience is ongoing.
