The Peterborough Petes are gearing up for a busy stretch of games after a tough weekend that saw them fall short against both the Brantford Bulldogs and the Barrie Colts, losing 4-3 in both games.
Sitting in 10 place in the Eastern Conference standings, the Petes now find themselves 11 points out of a playoff spot, with just 11 games left in the regular season.
Head Coach Rob Wilson says his team played well and showed improvement, even if the results didn’t reflect it.
As the final weeks of the regular season tick down, Wilson remains focused on finishing strong, despite the team’s challenges.
Looking ahead, the Petes will face another tough squad in the Windsor Spitfires tonight, before hitting the road to face the Bulldogs again on Saturday. Wilson says his team will need to be focused and ready to play at the same compete level as their opponents.
This weekend also brings a critical road trip for the team. Following Saturday’s game in Brantford, the Petes will wrap up the weekend in Erie on Sunday. While the team’s focus is on the immediate challenges, Wilson sees the time spent on the road as an opportunity for bonding and team-building.
The Petes will play their final regular season home game against Kingston on March 20th, finishing up their schedule in Oshawa on the 23rd.
