Three Bobcaygeon residents face multiple charges following a traffic stop in the City of Kawartha Lakes on February 22, 2025.
At around 8:00 p.m., Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle on Centreline Road after it failed to slow down and move over for an emergency vehicle. The officer conducted an investigation into impaired driving and drug trafficking. The driver registered a “warn” on a roadside screening device, resulting in a three-day license suspension and the vehicle being towed.
As a result of the investigation, three individuals were charged:
Justin Wood, 40, of Bobcaygeon:
- Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (x2)
- Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
- Fail to slow down for an emergency vehicle
Elyssa Hanley, 35, of Bobcaygeon:
- Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (x2)
- Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
- Passenger fail to wear seatbelt properly
Mitchell Duffy, 37, of Bobcaygeon:
- Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (x2)
- Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Fail to comply with probation order
- Passenger fail to wear seatbelt properly
