A Peterborough non-profit that annually provides a listening and compassionate ear for thousands of distressed people is seeking support.
Telecare Peterborough will hold its first Variety Show and Auction on March 1st at Lakefield College’s Bryan Jones Theatre. Hosted by actress and improv artist Linda Kash, the event will raise money to help keep the 24-7 distress line at 705-745-2273 open every day of the year.
Telecare administrative assistant Hannah Fricker gives a preview of what will be featured at the event.
Another event feature, says Fricker, is a hybrid silent auction featuring a varied selection of great items and experiences up for grabs.
Last year alone saw Telecare volunteers answer more than 17,000 calls – a service that Fricker says is invaluable for those in distress, and even lifesaving for some.
Tickets for the fundraiser cost $25 and can be ordered at www.telecarepeterborough.org. Those interested in volunteering with Telecare can also apply at the same website.
