A residential fire early Tuesday morning has left two people displaced after flames tore through the main floor and attic of a home on Denne Crescent.
Peterborough Fire Services responded to the scene at approximately 7:45 a.m., encountering heavy smoke and fire venting from multiple openings. Crews quickly entered the structure, launching an aggressive search, ventilation, and fire suppression effort.
Firefighters successfully contained the blaze to the main floor and attic, but heat and smoke caused extensive damage throughout the home.
Emergency personnel remain on site as the investigation continues. Officials believe the fire was accidental in nature.
