All school buses within the STSCO jurisdiction have been cancelled for today. The cancellation affects Peterborough City and County, Northumberland, and Clarington, with all transportation services suspended for safety reasons.
Officials say “inclement weather conditions, forecasted snow and snow squall warnings” prompted the cancellations.
Despite the disruption, all schools in these areas remain open for students who can safely make their way there. Families are advised to use discretion and monitor local conditions when deciding whether to send their children to school. Keep in mind that you will also need to arrange transportation home for them at the end of the day.
