A 59-year-old Omemee man faces impaired driving charges following a single-vehicle rollover on Highway 115 near Larmer Line.
Peterborough County OPP responded to the crash shortly before 6 p.m. on Sunday, after a vehicle rolled into a ditch in the northbound lanes. The driver, who sustained minor injuries, was assisted by EMS. A roadside breath test revealed a “FAIL,” leading to the arrest of the driver, who is charged with impaired operation and exceeding the blood alcohol limit.
The collision also damaged a hydro pole, leaving lines hanging over the highway and prompting a closure of the northbound lanes. OPP diverted traffic at Tapley ¼ Line until repairs were completed.
The accused’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle impounded for seven days. He is scheduled to appear in court on February 25th.
Peterborough County OPP reminds drivers to plan ahead when consuming alcohol or drugs, emphasizing that impaired driving can have serious consequences.
