The Morton Family Foundation has continued its longtime philanthropical support of the Peterborough Haliburton YWCA, gifting $50,000 to the organization for a fifth consecutive year.
Patricia and David Morton have supported the YWCA for 12 years, with this latest gift directed to programs in Hailburton County that help rural women experiencing violence and abuse with safety planning, counselling and legal assistance.
In providing their gift, the Mortons “hope to encourage others to give as much as possible to the YWCA because it is the wellbeing and lives of abused women that are at stake.”
