The Lakefield Literary Festival has achieved charitable status, allowing donors contributing more than $100 to receive tax receipts.
Founded in 1995, the volunteer-run festival became a federally incorporated non-profit in 2017. It is now a celebrated national event, drawing acclaimed Canadian authors to Lakefield every July and supporting young talent through its Young Writers Contest for secondary school students.
Donations, which account for half the festival’s annual revenue, can be made online at lakefieldliteraryfestival.com, via e-transfer to payments@lakefieldliteraryfestival.com, or by mailing a cheque to P.O. Box 1082, Lakefield, K0L2H0.
