David Piccini has been officially acclaimed as the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party’s candidate for Northumberland-Peterborough South in the upcoming provincial election.
The announcement was made Friday by the party and Piccini says that he feels the province is absolutely heading in the right direction.
Piccini was first elected in 2018 won more than 50 per cent of the vote during his re-election victory in 2022.
“David Piccini is an outstanding leader who has consistently delivered for Northumberland-Peterborough South,” said Ontario PC Party Leader Doug Ford. “From fighting the Liberal carbon tax to cutting costs for families, championing investments in the electric vehicle sector, and securing critical funding for housing and health care, David’s work is making life better for families in this region. I’m proud to have him on our team as we continue to build a stronger Ontario together.”
Piccini says he’s continuing to focus on moving the province forward in a number of areas.
He adds that he’s ready to put his head down and continue to work hard for the people of the riding.
In addition to his local duties, the 36-year-old is currently serving as Minister of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development.
