Starting Friday, visitors to downtown Peterborough can take advantage of free two-hour parking at municipal parking spaces, including on-street spots, parking lots, and the King and Simcoe Street parking garages.
The program runs through December 31st as part of an effort to encourage local shopping during the holiday season. Parking fees voluntarily paid during the free two-hour period will be donated to Kawartha Food Share, which supports thousands of residents each month through its food programs and school initiatives.
Sponsored by Wolfe Personal Injury Lawyers, the initiative highlights the importance of supporting local businesses while offering convenience for shoppers and diners. Visitors needing more than two hours are encouraged to use city parking lots or garages to ensure turnover for on-street spaces.
