The Rotary Club of Peterborough Kawartha honoured seven individuals with the prestigious Paul Harris Fellow award last week.
Named after the founder of Rotary International, this recognition celebrates those who exemplify the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self” across various fields including community, vocational, and environmental service.
This year’s recipients include:
- David and Dr. Patricia Morton for their extensive community service, supporting organizations like PRHC, Trent University, and the United Way.
- Dawn McIlmoyle, recognized for her advocacy work for women veterans and survivors of military sexual trauma.
- Rose Powers, founder of Sport a Rainbow, celebrated for her contributions to female hockey and her advocacy for equity in sports.
- Alan and Linda Slavin for their environmental work, including efforts toward nuclear disarmament and climate action in Peterborough.
- Rino Andreoli, honoured for his exceptional service to the Rotary Club, including his leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Paul Harris Fellow award is the highest honour given by Rotary Clubs, acknowledging individuals who make significant contributions to their communities and beyond.
