Dorothy Noronha, a high school teacher and senior boys’ basketball coach, has been nominated as the Ontario Liberal candidate for Northumberland-Peterborough South.
Announced by Ontario Liberal leader Bonnie Crombie earlier this month, Noronha’s candidacy emphasizes the need for stronger healthcare, education, and economic resources within the region.
With over 20 years in Northumberland, Noronha teaches business and leadership at Cobourg Collegiate Institute and brings extensive experience from her prior careers in finance, health sector marketing, and business ownership. She is well-regarded by students and residents alike, especially for her dedication to helping youth succeed.
Noronha’s focus is to counteract the policies of Premier Doug Ford’s government, which she claims have “eroded” public institutions to favour “wealthy insiders.”
