The Peterborough City U15 Girls of the Durham Region Soccer League won their third consecutive league title with a convincing 8-0 victory.
Entering the game on Thursday, Peterborough City needed at least a win or a tie to clinch first place.
Grace Plunkett led the charge scoring five goals, with supporting goals coming from Danica Bennett, Madelyn Gleeson and Elaina Wilson. Bridgette Powers, the team backup goalie earned the clean sheet in net.
After winning two straight Durham Region Soccer League titles in 2022 and 2023, the Peterborough City U15 Girls entered this season playing up a year in the U16 girls division. The team wanted more of a challenge and an increased competition level.
Peterborough City U15 Girls finished the season with an impressive undefeated record of 13 Wins and 3 draws. The team scored a league leading 87 goals and only conceded 10 goals against.
Next year the team are making plans to enter the Ontario Soccer iModel League.
