As the completion of the new Miskin Law Community Complex nears, a new development has been announced.
The city has announced Canadian Hockey Enterprises will become a commercial tenant and the Pad Naming Right sponsor.
The new facility, will feature a twin-pad arena, a branch of the Peterborough Public Library, an indoor walking and running track, and versatile multi-use space. The south pad will bear the name “Canadian Hockey Enterprises Pad”.
“Canadian Hockey Enterprises is proud to call the new Miskin Law Community Complex home. It’s a dream come true for our seven full-time staff,” said Paul Crowley, founder of CHE. Crowley highlighted the launch of the first CHE Academy at the complex, emphasizing the company’s deep roots in the community since 1987.
Councillors Gary Baldwin and Lesley Parnell, co-chairs of the Community Services Portfolio, welcomed CHE’s involvement, noting that it “supports the development of our city’s sports and recreation infrastructure and strengthens our local economy.”
CHE is now the third major sponsor of the complex, joining Miskin Law and Russelle Toyota, who have secured naming rights for the facility and the north pad, respectively. Collectively, these sponsorships will contribute over $1 million to the project’s capital budget.
In addition to the naming rights, CHE has committed to a 10-year lease for approximately 161 square metres of office space on the upper level of the complex.
The Miskin Law Community Complex is on track for completion this fall.
