Kawartha Lakes Police Service arrested two men following a pair of break-ins at downtown Lindsay businesses.
Police were alerted to the first incident at approximately 4:00 a.m. Tuesday, when an alarm call led officers to the scene of a business burglary. After reviewing video surveillance, investigators quickly identified two suspects involved in the break-in.
Shortly after, officers responded to a second call regarding another break-in at a different business in the downtown area. Video footage from this location revealed that one of the same suspects from the first incident was also responsible for the second break and enter.
A 35-year-old male from Lindsay was apprehended and charged with multiple offences related to both break-ins, including:
- Two counts of Break and Enter to Commit an Indictable Offence
- Two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
- Two counts of Failure to Comply with Probation
- Theft Under $5,000
- Mischief – Destroy or Damage Property
- Possession of Break-In Instruments
The second suspect, a 52-year-old male from Lindsay, was also arrested in connection with the first break-in. He faces the following charges:
- Break and Enter to Commit an Indictable Offence
- Two counts of Failure to Comply with Probation
Both suspects have been remanded in custody pending their appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on October 10, 2024.
The investigation is ongoing as police continue to review evidence related to the incidents.
