A Peterborough filmmaker’s latest work will debut September 1st at a Serbian film festival.
Roaches, a stop-motion animated film by David Creighton, is under two minutes in length. In completing the film, Creighton called upon the talents of a Sri Lankan animator and the vocal work of Canadian comic Rick Green, formerly of The Frantics and best known as the mute woodsman in The Red Green Show
Creighton says Roaches is set in a hostel “run by a collective somewhere in the world.”
Creighton explains how Serbia came to be the location of his film’s premiere.
As he awaits word on his film’s entry into other festivals, Creighton has other projects on the go, including a short play which has been picked up by Australian touring company.
Creighton’s previous film, Something Fishy, was nominated in 2022 in the Best Short Animation category at the Art Color Digital Cinema International Film Festival.
