Downtown Peterborough will be vibrating August 31st when the first sidewalk sale event since before the pandemic sees a section of George Street closed to vehicle traffic.
Organized by the Downtown Business Improvement Area (DBIA), the event will see pedestrian-friendly space created on George Street from Hunter to Simcoe streets. But as DBIA executive director Nour Mazloum notes, the fun isn’t restricted to that area.
An event like this, says Mazloum, presents the opportunity to attract those who haven’t frequented downtown in a while to make a return visit.
Mazloum adds downtown merchants are “very excited” that a sidewalk sale event is returning. Its success, she adds, will be a factor in future sidewalk sale events being held.
Any downtown business wishing to secure a spot for the sidewalk sale is asked to email DBIA marketing and communications manager Amanda Bedford at amanda@ptbodbia.ca.
