A Lindsay woman is facing multiple charges after being arrested for impaired driving.
At around 7 p.m. on Saturday, officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP Detachment received reports of an impaired driver at a local gas station. The vehicle, which had a child on board, left the scene before police arrived.
Officers located the vehicle on Kirkfield Road and conducted an impaired driving investigation. The driver was arrested and charged with operation while impaired (blood alcohol concentration over 80), assaulting a peace officer, and failing to surrender a licence.
The child was reported to be safe. The accused was issued a 90-day driver’s licence suspension, and her vehicle was impounded for seven days. She was later released with a future court date.
