A coordinated effort by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) resulted in the arrest of three individuals and the seizure of drugs and firearms in Havelock.
On Wednesday, officers from the Peterborough County and Northumberland OPP CSCU, alongside the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), executed a search warrant at a local residence.
The operation led to the arrest of Branden Lane, 34, following a traffic stop, along with Christopher Jaksic, 38, and Jessica King, 29, who were located at the residence.
The search uncovered 970 grams of methamphetamine, 1 gram of cocaine, two cell phones, five digital scales, Canadian currency, a shotgun, and three shotgun shells.
Branden Lane, 34, faces multiple charges, including possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, operating while prohibited, failing to comply with a probation order (two counts), possession of cocaine, tampering with the serial number of a firearm, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. Lane was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough.
Christopher Jaksic, 38, and Jessica King, 29, have been charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm. Both are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on September 17th.
