Four-time Juno Award-winning band July Talk will be the Peterborough Folk Festival’s main stage headliner on Saturday, August 17th.
Festival organizers made that announcement Monday as well as confirmed other acts for the 35th annual festival set for August 15 to 18 at Nicholls Oval Park.
Other scheduled acts include Greg Keelor of Blue Rodeo fame, B.A. Johnston, Brooks and Bowskill, Irish Millie, Nicholas Campbell, 2024 Emerging Artist recipient Calvin Bakelaar and The Spades, with James McKenty, Tom Street and Josh Robichaud reuniting as the opener for July Talk. All featured acts are listed at www.peterboroughfolkfest.com.
Festival chair Rob Davis says organizers “are absolutely thrilled” to bring July Talk to Peterborough for the first time in more than 10 years.
Davis notes that while big-name acts get a lot of attention, the festival continues its mandate of bringing local acts to its three stages.
Diversity within the lineup, says Davis, has again been achieved.
