A unique agreement between Mark Street United Church and developer TVM Group will, pending city council approval, see a 10-storey apartment building built on Hunter Street East in East City.
Former Peterborough mayor Daryl Bennett, chair of the church’s board of trustees, says, under the agreement, the church will receive four units at nearby East City Condos, which it can lease out, in exchange for church property. He terms the agreement a “win-win-win.”
At an open house back in June, Bennett met with a number of area residents, some of whom expressed concern with the scope of the proposed development.
Bennett says East City isn’t immune to change, nor should it be.
TVM Group will be required to submit an application for a zoning bylaw amendment to the City of Peterborough and, if that application is approved, an application for site plan approval.
