There will be 30 floats featured in this year’s Canada Day Parade – but is that enough to save the annual event?
Earlier this year, staff recommended not holding the parade because of a lack of registration but council stepped in and supported going ahead with it.
We spoke with Chair Ellen Stewart, who has been involved with the parade over the past several years.
Stewart says she happy that parade is going ahead this year, adding that it’s important to celebrate our nation.
She says she’s hopeful there’ll be something for everyone.
Canada Day festivities will start at 10 a.m. in Confederation Park, with the parade going at noon.
