Elyse Saunders’ star continues to rise.
The Peterborough-raised singer/songwriter came home from this past weekend’s Country Music Association of Ontario awards show in Mississauga as the Female Artist of the Year. She won the honour based on her 2023 single Famous.
Now enjoying success with her latest single Dirt, Saunders says she’s at a point where she can be more selective in terms of gigs and new recording projects.
With her early 2024 single Never Have I Ever continuing to garner strong radio play traction, including in Australia, Saunders says all roads have led to where she’s at now.
This is Saunders’ second CMAO award win. In 2023, she won the Music Video of the Year category for her song Genes. Ahead is continued collaboration with her BC based producer Dan Swinimer with an eye toward eventually releasing a new album.
