In an aim to boost team chemistry and engage fans ahead of the upcoming season, the Peterborough Lakers will host an open practice tomorrow afternoon.
The practice will take place at the Memorial Center from 2:30 to 4pm, during a break in the action of the 36th Annual Laker Classic tournament.
Jordan Winch, Coordinator of Marketing, Sales, and Community Events for the Lakers, says the idea originated from Head Coach and GM Mike Hasen.
Winch says with the practice coinciding with the Laker Classic weekend, it makes sense to open it to the public.
As the season opener approaches, Winch says the Lakers have several exciting events lined up.
Additionally, the Lakers have renewed a merchandising agreement with the Peterborough Petes Store, and new merchandise that will be available throughout the season.
Winch hinted the team will have more announcements in the coming days, keeping fans eagerly anticipating further surprises.
Winch says the Lakers staff, volunteers, and players are already full of excitement as they prepare for another season, with high hopes of hosting this year’s Mann Cup series in September.
The Lakers will begin their season on the road, June 2nd, in Oakville against the Rock. Following that game, they will visit Brampton on June 6th to face the Excelsiors before returning to the PMC for their home opener against the Brooklin Lacrosse Club on June 14th.
