A serious crash on County Road 32 has led to a 19-year-old man being airlifted to hospital.
Peterborough County OPP say on Wednesday night, a motorcycle rider lost control of the bike as its wheel came in contact with the gravel shoulder. The motorcycle left the roadway striking a tree and ejecting the rider.
A passerby saw the motorcycle rider in the ditch waiving for help and stopped to offer assistance. Upon arrival, EMS attended to the rider, who was later transported by ORNGE Air to a trauma centre in Toronto for treatment.
The stretch of road was closed for several hours while police and emergency crews dealt with the collision scene.
Over the past 10 years, 370 motorcyclists have died in collisions in OPP jurisdictions.
