36 students were honored with Catholic Student Leadership Awards during a ceremony at Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School yesterday. The gathering was part of Catholic Education Week celebrations.
Selected from both elementary and secondary schools within the Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington Catholic District School Board (PVNC), each student received a special medallion for their outstanding leadership.
Nominations came from principals, teachers, and peers, highlighting students who showed exceptional qualities in Catholic leadership, family commitment, school involvement, community engagement, and dedication to challenging situations.
Board Chairperson Kevin MacKenzie underscored the significance of recognizing student leaders during Catholic Education Week, stating, “In celebrating our student leaders during Catholic Education Week, we are reminded of the vibrant role faith plays not only in education but in shaping individuals who are committed to making a difference in their communities.”
