Charges have been laid against a 22-year-old Peterborough man after vehicle crashed into a building at George Street north and Sherbrooke street at around 2:30 on Saturday morning.
When police arrived on scene, they learned that an off-duty officer had stopped to help after a vehicle had struck several parked vehicles and a number of trees before coming to a stop.
Witnesses also reported the vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed at the time of the collision.
Officers approached the driver and conducted a roadside sobriety test, which led to impaired charges for the man.
