About 14 hours after an early morning shooting in the south end of the city, Peterborough Police say they’ve arrested a suspect.
At around 5am today, officials responded to reports of a shooting at a home on Crystal Drive where they foundĀ a 32 year old man with gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported to PRHC where he was pronounced dead.
Police used the K9 unit and a drone in the area of Highway 115 but were unable to find a suspect, who police say was known to the victim.
Later in the evening, police reported that they arrested 37-year-old Geoff Riley of Peterborough and charged him with second-degree murder and attempted murder in connection with the fatal shooting
They say that the investigation is still continuing, but police are not looking for any other suspects.
Riley is expected in court tomorrow.
