An arrest has been made in this morning’s shooting.
Peterborough Police say 37-year-old Geoff Riley of Peterborough was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and attempted murder in connection with the fatal shooting incident.
The investigation is still continuing, but police are not looking for any other suspects.
The accused is being held in custody and appear in WASH (Weekend and Statutory Holiday) court tomorrow,

– 1:35 pm:
A 32-year-old man, the victim of this morning’s shooting, has been pronounced dead at hospital.
Police say they have identified the suspect responsible for the shooting and are currently searching known locations in Peterborough for that person.
This is believed to be an isolated incident, with both parties known to each other, but police say they recognize that the suspect is still at large and is in possession of a firearm.

– 10:55 am:
The Peterborough Police Service is continuing to investigate a shooting at a housing complex in Peterborough.
Officers have just completed a grid search of the area. The suspect is still outstanding and could still be in possession of a firearm.
However, at this time the Peterborough Police Service believes that this is an isolated incident between parties that are known to each other.
The area has been re-opened and the hold and secure has been lifted for two area schools.
– 8:55 am:
City police are asking residents of a southeast Peterborough neighbourhood to lock their doors and remain home as they search for a suspect in an early Friday morning shooting.
At about 5 a.m. at a Crystal Drive residence, a man was found without vital signs and rushed to hospital. Police say a suspect is at large and may be armed.
Streets near the shooting location have been closed by police, including Ashburnham Drive westbound on-ramp to Highway 115.
There remains a heavy police presence in the area and K-9 units have been deployed.
Meanwhile, St, Patrick’s School and Otonabee Valley have both been locked down. Both school boards advise that students and staff are safe.
