With National Youth Week fast approaching, a number of events and activities have been organized by the City in cooperation with community organizations.
Set for May 1st to 7th, the activities, for youths aged 10 to 19, celebrate young people’s active participation in the life of their community.
Peterborough youth programmer Ellen Stewart says National Youth Week has been celebrated in the city for 17 years, adding the annual focus highlights Peterborough’s longstanding youth-friendly status.
Stewart adds a celebration such as this highlight good news stories when it comes to youth’s contributions and involvement.
Stewart says youth’s energy and enthusiasm is infectious.
The list of free events and activities planned for the week is long and varied, and can be viewed at www.peterborough.ca/en/city-services/national-youth-week.aspx.
