Charges have been laid against two people following an altercation that occurred on Tuesday afternoon, after police responded to reports of a fight at King Edward Park.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that an ongoing disagreement between a landlord and tenant had spilled over into the park. The dispute began when the landlord noticed suspicious activity shifting from his property to the park’s gazebo and approached the scene.
In response, the suspects threw an object at him and the began to physically assault both him and a bystander who intervened to help, causing damage to their glasses.
As a result, a 38-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman, both from Otonabee-South-Monaghan, were arrested and a black replica handgun was confiscated from man.
