Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board and the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario – Kawartha Pine Ridge Teacher Local have successfully ratified a new collective agreement for contract teachers, spanning from September 1, 2022, to August 31, 2026.
After a period without a collective agreement since August 31, 2022, the Board’s approximately 1,500 contract elementary teachers now have a ratified agreement in place.
Expressing satisfaction with the new agreement, David Berger, President of the Elementary Teachers Local, stated, “We are very pleased with this new Collective Agreement as it will set the stage for better learning conditions for our students and better working conditions for our members for years to come.”
Board Chairperson, Jaine Klassen Jeninga, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the vital role of elementary school teachers in shaping successful futures for students. “We are very pleased to have been able to reach this tentative new agreement with our elementary contract teachers,” says Jeninga. “Elementary school teachers play an integral role in supporting successful futures for students. We continue to greatly appreciate and value their passion and dedication for student achievement, success and well-being.”
