Buoyed by the remarkable success of last year’s inaugural event, the local CMHA is bringing back its Change the Cycle fundraiser.
Set for June 15th at Nicholls Oval, the event will see registrants, as individuals or as a team cycle for 4, 12 or 26 kilometres along Rotary Trail. Each participant will also receive a T-shirt and lunch.
CMHA community engagement and education manager Jack Veitch says last year’s event raised more than $40,000 for the Garden Homes project. He says that result, while not taken for granted, shouldn’t surprise anyone.
Veitch says participation by those of all ages and abilities is at the heart of the event.
Veitch says proceeds from this year’s event will support youth and mental health programs.
Registration, which can be done online here, costs $20, with kids 12 and under free to register. Registrants are expected to secure fundraising support.
