A lot of local people will be heading to Port Hope this weekend for the annual ‘Float Your Fanny Down the Ganny’ race.
Road closures and parking restrictions will take place beginning Friday and will be in effect until Saturday evening to accommodate the event.
Road closures include:
Barrett Street (from Cavan Street to Ontario Street)
Maitland Street (from Ontario Street to Cavan Street)
Old Cavan Street (closure begins at 7:00 a.m.)
Cavan Street (from Walton Street to Bedford Street) restricting local traffic to southbound only
South Street (from Brown Street to Cavan Street), restricting local traffic to westbound only
Bedford Street (from Cavan Street to Brown Street) restricting traffic to event pass holders
Hope Street North (from Molson Street north to dead-end)
A reminder that Cavan Street (from Highland Drive to Bedford Street) is also closed for public safety.
Parking restrictions will also be in effect:
Closure of the Cavan Street Municipal parking lot and Barret Street Bridge Friday, April 12 at 8:00 a.m. until Saturday, April 13, at 6:00 p.m.
Optimist Park parking lot closure from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 13
Parking restricted to the South side of Bedford Street (from Brown Street to Cavan Street) from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on April 13
Parking restricted to the South side of Massey Road (along the curve), from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on April 13
Please note: Vehicles in the above locations, during designated times, will be removed at the expense of the owner.
