You’re being invited to help Hospice Norwood move closer to opening two beds and bring hospice care to Norwood and the surrounding communities.
They’re holding a benefit concert at the Norwood Town Hall on Saturday, April 13th from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Board member Janice Darling told us more about the evening’s entertainment.
Wicklow is a classic rock and country cover band while Organized Chaos will bring top 40, funk, reggae and rock to round out the evening.
Darling told us the Lions will be running the bar and there will be a 50/50 draw as well as a silent auction with proceeds going to support the hospice.
According to Janice, their building on Highway 7, was generously donated by the Stewart family and now stands as the cornerstone of Hospice Norwood – Stewart House.
Through community fundraising efforts, renovations were undertaken to ensure the space is welcoming, secure, and accessible to all who seek its support. Hospice Norwood partnered with Peterborough Hospice and are currently running the programming there on Thursdays.
Their hope for the future is to build a new wing with a 2 bed Hospice residence where people will be able to receive care in their last days or weeks of life, while also providing a place for family to stay.
If you can’t make it this weekend, Janice told us about a couple of events they’ll be hosting soon.
Hospice Norwood is dedicated to realizing their vision of providing hospice care to Norwood and neighboring communities. Don’t hesitate to contact them to access their programs or to join us in making their vision a reality.
