Just how is the date for Easter Sunday determined?
We asked Minister in the United Church of Canada and Primary Reserve Chaplain with the Canadian Armed Forces Mike Perreault to explain.
So the following was decided as the official way to determine when Easter is.
The Reverend also says that ideally it would line up close to Passover, but that’s not always the case, thanks to yet another calendar in the mix.
That means Easter will continue to be a moving holiday.
Rev. Perreault says there is a movement, albeit a small one, to have Easter take place on the second Sunday of April. It hasn’t gained traction.
