Trent University has unveiled the crest for its sixth college.
Gidigaa Migizi College is expected to open in 2028 on the east bank of the Symons Campus in Peterborough. The college is named in honour of elder Doug Williams, an assistant professor, alumnus and community leader.
At the unveiling during the 48th annual Elders and Traditional Peoples Gathering, a scarf featuring the crest was presented to the elders and members of Williams’ family – a gesture honouring them as the first members of the new college.
