Snow soccer and chili will collide early next month, the result being a fun day that will benefit the Maple Leaf Cavan Football Club.
On February 4th at Kawartha Downs in Fraserville, teams of five to eight players will put their best soccer foot forward before enjoying chili prepared by those vying for the coveted title of Chili Cook-Off Champion.
Club administrator Angela Penello says the event grew out of a need to fundraise for Cavan soccer field lights a few years ago.
Noting it’s an all-ages events, Penello says the family dynamic heightens the fun.
The chili cook-off, says Penello, sees some pretty serious bragging rights up for grabs.
