The provincial government’s adding $15 million to the Local Priorities Fund for 2024 to bring the total investment to $35 million after it launched in 2022.
The purpose of the LPF is to help support long-term care home residents who require specalized assistance due to complex needs such as bariatric care and dementia.
Minister of Long-Term Care Stan Cho reaffirmed their government’s commitment to meeting the demand for long-term care.
Minister Cho says they’re tacking on $15 million into the fund for 2024, which brings it to a total of $35 million.
The ministry will be working with Ontario Health to review all funding proposals and the successful applicants will be informed of a funding boost in the coming weeks.
