In a move aimed at improving the overall transit experience for residents, Peterborough Transit has unveiled a series of service enhancements and a new route set to take effect on January 2nd. The changes are geared towards increasing the growth, stability, and frequency of services for customers across various routes.
Route 4 Weller
Effective January 2nd, Route 4 Weller will see an increase in weekday service between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. The route will now operate every 30 minutes during this timeframe, providing more frequent and accessible transit options for passengers.
Route 7 Lansdowne
Commuters using Route 7 Lansdowne will benefit from extended weekday service between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. The route will now operate every 30 minutes between Trent and Fleming, in both westbound and eastbound directions. This adjustment aims to cater to the specific needs of passengers during these peak hours.
Route 10 Technology Drive
Effective immediately, Route 10 Technology Drive will no longer service Pido Road. Instead, a stop on Technology Drive at Pido Road will be introduced to accommodate passengers at this location.
New: Route 12 Otonabee
The most significant announcement is the introduction of a new route, Route 12 Otonabee, starting January 2, 2024. This route is designed to provide weekday round-trip service from the Peterborough Terminal to the southeast part of the city. Operating every 40 minutes between 8:30 a.m. and 5:10 p.m., Route 12 Otonabee will connect with Route 2 Chemong, Route 7 Lansdowne, and Route 10 Technology Drive. The new route will serve neighborhoods in the area of Corrigan Crescent, Middlefield Road, and Otonabee Drive. A preview timetable is available online.
