Members of the Peterborough County OPP and emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle collision on Highway 7 shortly after 6:30 pm on Sunday.
A homeowner called 911 reporting that a motorcycle had left the roadway, crossed their property, and struck their residence. The homeowner came out to find the motorcycle and rider laying on the ground. A second motorcycle was reported to have been at the scene but left prior to police arrival.
OPP had received traffic complaints of two motorcycles traveling eastbound on Highway 7 at a high rate of speed a short time prior to the collision.
The 18-year-old driver sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision and was transported to a local hospital for treatment before being transported to a trauma centre.
