Working with horses as a young girl on her family’s farm ignited a spark for Melanie Hale, who, since 2017, has owned and operated Harmony Hills Equestrian Centre near Norwood.
Hale’s property features a 10-stall bar, a huge indoor arena that allows for all-season riding and an outdoor ring. The center also hosts four riding shows each year for young equestrian athletes, Hale’s daughter among them.
Hale, a graduate of the Equine Science program at Humber College and a certified Ontario Equestrian coach, explains what drew her to horses many years ago and has kept her full interest since.
Having worked with racehorses in Toronto and Florida, Hale returned to the area to pursue her dream of opening her own equine-related business.
Hales says she sees herself in her riding students and that pleases her to no end.
