A 37-year-old Stouffville man was arrested and charged by members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police following a hit-and-run incident and a series of related traffic complaints.
OPP officers were dispatched at 4:30pm on Thursday, to respond to a complaint involving a driver who had struck a pedestrian in the parking lot of a local golf course before fleeing the scene.
Shortly after, additional complaints were received by officers concerning the same driver’s erratic behavior while he was driving in Bobcaygeon.
Officers located and stopped the suspect’s vehicle on County Road 8, at which point they placed the driver under arrest.
Brad Denison now faces a series of charges, including:
- Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
- Operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine
- Failure to comply with a release order
The pedestrian who was struck during the hit-and-run incident was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
